Do you want to build a snowman? Or at least some Frozen Themed Rice Krispie Treats in the shape of a snowman?

How to Make Frozen Themed Rice Krispie Treats
This was one of the most fun recipes to make. If you love Disney (or have a kid that loves Disney) these treats are going to be perfect for you!
We were in the grocery store one day lingering on the marshmallow aisle and saw these wonderful looking bags of Frozen marshmallows. Immediately we started thinking of different ideas.
These treats are perfect for a child's birthday party, a Disney+ watch party, or just a boredom killer if you like snack based projects.
Step One
This recipe is a little different than the original Rice Krispie Treat recipes. Just like with the Peeps Rice Krispie Treats and Watermelon Rice Krispie Treats, we are essentially making two small batches instead of one large batch.
So your first step is going to be separating the blue marshmallows from the purple marshmallows. This is obviously, only if you have the official Jet-Puffed Disney Frozen 2 branded marshmallows.
If you do not have these specific marshmallows you can try using a pack of multicolored marshmallows (like we did with our Peeps recipe) or food coloring (like our St Patrick's Day green Rice Krispie Treats). We have not tried either of these options so the instructions will be based on officially licensed Jet-Puffed Frozen 2 marshmallows.
Step Two
Once you're ingredients are sorted and you are ready to start, the first thing you will do is place 2 tablespoons of butter into a large stock pot and place it on your stove top. Set your heat to medium and melt the butter.
Step Three
Once your butter has melted take your first dish of blue marshmallows and dump them into the pot with the melted butter. Stir them together until the marshmallows are completely melted and the butter is blended in.
You should have a big blue sticky mess. If you like, you can spray your spatula with Canola oil or some form of non-stick cooking spray. That will help to cut down on the mess a bit but not completely.
Reduce your heat to around low to low-medium. This way your marshmallows will still be pliable enough to mix your cereal in more easily. Just be aware that you don't overheat your marshmallows. They become hard and difficult to mix if heated for too long.
Now you will add in 3 cups of Rice Krispies (half of the 6 total cups you need for the recipe). Stir these in until they are completely mixed and you have a big blue crunchy ball of marshmallow Krispie goodness. Feel free to take a taste sample at this point.
Step Four
Remove the pot completely from the heat and transfer its content into an 8x8 baking pan. Spray the pan with cooking spray to keep things from sticking too much.
Once you have the pre-treats in the pan, use your spatula to flatten them out into the bottom of the pan. You should have enough treats to fill the pan about halfway to the top.
You will want to let these cool before you add another layer. You can put them into the refrigerator at this point while you move to the next step. They should be cool enough when you need them again.
Step Five
Now, you will repeat steps 2 and 3 (including the taste test if you like. No judgement here). Obviously you will use your purple marshmallows at this point.
When you have your purple mix ready, remove the blue pan from the fridge. Place the purple mix ON TOP of the blue mix in the brownie pan. Use your spatula to flatten the purple layer evenly to match the lower blue level.
Once everything is flattened out cover and leave them on the counter for a bit. The cover will trap in some of them heat and allow the layers to bond. This should take too long.
Because you sprayed the pan with non-stick spray, you should be able to remove the entire block of Rice Krispie Treats easily. We usualy put some parchment paper down, grab opposite sides of the pan, and with one quick motion, flip the pan upside down.
Everything should drop right out onto the parchment paper. If not, you can use your spatula to run around the edges of the pan to loosen anything that may be sticking.
Step Six
Pull out your cookie cutter, like with our Dinosaur Rice Krispie Treats or Unicorn Rice Krispie Treats, and push it firmly into the bottom left corner of the large square. Then do the same in the bottom right. Finally, do one horizontally across the top.
If you can play with the arrangement to fit more snowmen, please feel free and let us know in the comments.
The Rice Krispie Treats will be thicker than the cookie cutter will cut. You may need to use your spatula or a knife to cut around the edges of the snowmen to remove them completely.
Once the snowmen are completely separated from each other, run the cookie cutter over them again to remove and excess pieces.
You can also cut the whole pan into squares or cut smaller square in the excess pieces around the snowmen. Obviously, the excess pieces are still delicious so reward yourself with a well earned snack!
