Red, White, and Blue Rice Krispie Treats

Equipment

  • Spatula
  • 8x8 Pan
  • measuring cups
  • large stock pot
  • canola spray

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoon Butter
  • 6 Cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 bag Frozen Themed Marshmallows
  • 6 oz box cherry Jell-o you can also use red food coloring or red velvet cake mix if you prefer
  • 6 oz box blue raspberry Jell-o you can also use blue food coloring if you prefer

Instructions

  • split all of your ingredients into ⅓'s

Red Layer

  • put 1 ⅓ tablespoons of butter in large stock pot and melt
  • once butter has melted add in your ⅓ bag of marshmallows
  • stir until marshmallows and butter have blended together
  • pour in ⅓ box of red Jell-o
  • add in 2 cups of Rice Krispies and stir until well blended
  • spray 9x13 pan and spatula with non stick cooking spray
  • put red layer into bottom of pan and flatten with spatula
  • place to the side and allow to cool
  • rinse stock pot and spatula

White Layer

  • melt another 1 ⅓ tablespoons of butter
  • once butter has melted add in ⅓ bag of marshmallows
  • stir until marshmallows and butter have blended together
  • add in 2 cups of Rice Krispies and stir until well blended
  • place mixture in the 9x13 pan on top of red mixture and flatten out with spatula
  • place to the side and allow to cool

Blue Layer

  • melt last 1 ⅓ tablespoon of butter
  • once butter has melted add in final ⅓ bag of marshmallows
  • stir until marshmallows and butter have blended together
  • pour in ⅓ box of blue Jell-o
  • add in final 2 cups of Rice Krispies and stir until well blended
  • place mixture in the 9x13 pan on top of plain layer and flatten out with spatula

All Three Layers

  • add red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • Allow to cool, cut, and enjoy
