Recipe Tips for Success

  • Don't overheat your candy melts or white chocolate - follow the package directions carefully and stir frequently. Overheated chocolate can seize up and become grainy, making it difficult to work with. If your melted chocolate seems too thick for smooth dipping, you can add a teaspoon of coconut oil or shortening to thin it out slightly.
  • Work quickly once you dip each pretzel rod so you can add the sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet. If the coating starts to harden before you finish decorating, the sprinkles won't stick properly. You can dip one pretzel at a time and decorate it immediately for best results.

Storage

Store St. Patrick's Day pretzel rods in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Layer them between sheets of parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together. Avoid storing in warm areas or direct sunlight, as the chocolate coating may soften or melt. These also make great gifts when wrapped in clear cellophane bags tied with festive ribbons.
