Easy Canned Green Beans

Ditch the plain green beans with this doctored canned green beans recipe. This easy side dish is flavorful and has a little added crunch from the almonds.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 oz Canned Green Beans 2 - 15 oz cans
  • 2 tablespoon Butter unsalted
  • .5 cup Almonds chopped
  • .25 cup Onion diced
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • .5 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • .25 teaspoon Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet, heat the butter and almonds over low heat. 
  • Stir occasionally and allow to cook for about 10 minutes.  Butter should be browned and almonds aromatic. 
  • Add in the onion and cook for an additional minute.
  • Add in the green beans, lemon juice, salt and pepper.  Increase salt and pepper if desired, to personal taste. 
  • Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes over medium low until heated through.  Continue to stir occasionally. 

Notes

You can keep these green beans in a covered container in the fridge for up to 3 days or you can freeze them for 6 months.
