    Ham Meatballs

    These ham meatballs are a savory-sweet appetizer or main dish option made with finely ground ham, pork, and a flavorful glaze. They're tender, juicy, and brushed with a brown sugar, Dijon, and vinegar mixture for a tangy finish.

    With finely chopped onion, garlic, and breadcrumbs mixed in, each meatball has the perfect texture and flavor. They're perfect on their own or served alongside mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

    They're easy to prep and bake, making them perfect for gatherings or a weeknight meal. Serve them as-is or pair with your favorite dipping sauce or sides.

    Ingredients

    • Butter
    • Onion, finely chopped
    • Garlic cloves, minced
    • Finely ground ham
    • Ground pork
    • Egg
    • Breadcrumbs
    • Milk
    • Black pepper
    • Brown sugar
    • Dijon mustard
    • Apple cider vinegar

    Instructions

    Use these easy step by step instructions to bake up your own leftover ham meatballs.

    Step one: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil.

    Step two: Heat the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until tender, around 5 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and allow it to cool slightly.

    Step two: Combine the onions and garlic with the ground ham, pork, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, and black pepper in a large bowl. Work the ingredients together with your hands until they're well combined.

    Step three: Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to form the meat mixture into balls. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. Place the meatballs in the oven to bake for 20 minutes.

    Step four: Combine the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Brush the glaze over the top of the meatballs and return them to the oven to bake for another 10 minutes.

    Hint: Allow the meatballs to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

    Storage

    These can be kept in the fridge for 3 - 4 days or they can be frozen for up to a year.
