    Snowman Charcuterie

    Jump to Recipe

A snowman charcuterie board is a fun and festive holiday snack board where mozzarella cheese slices are arranged in the shape of a snowman and decorated with pepperoni, candy eyes, a carrot nose, olive smile, and peppermint buttons - served with crackers on the side.

    Snowman-shaped charcuterie board.

The whole thing comes together in about 10 minutes with no cooking required. It is a great centerpiece for a Christmas party snack table, a fun activity to put together with kids, or an easy appetizer for a holiday gathering. The combination of sweet and savory on one board makes it something guests of all ages will love.

Charcuterie board ingredients laid out: sliced salami, round white cheese, crackers, breadsticks, black olives in can.

    Ingredients

    • Mozzarella cheese slices
    • Pepperoni
    • Peppermint candies
    • Olive slices
    • Carrot
    • Candy eyes
    • Crackers

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

Preparation: Slice the carrot into a small triangle or cone shape for the nose. Slice the olives into thin rounds. Set all ingredients out in small bowls before building.

Overlapping round white cheese slices arranged in two connected circular clusters on a white rectangular plate.

Step one: Lay the mozzarella cheese slices out on your serving board in the shape of a snowman - a larger circle at the bottom, a medium circle in the middle, and a smaller circle at the top for the head.

Step two: Arrange pepperoni slices to form a hat and a scarf on the snowman. Fold or layer them slightly for dimension.

Round cheese slices arranged in a snowman shape on a white platter with candy eyes and a baby carrot nose.

Step three: Press two candy eyes onto the top circle of cheese for the snowman's face.

Snowman shape in progress with provolone cheese slices forming the body, salami slices and black olives at the top.

Step four: Place peppermint candies down the center of the middle circle as buttons.

Step five: Arrange olive slices in a curved line below the eyes to form the smile.

Step six: Place the carrot piece in the center of the face for the nose. Arrange crackers around the edges of the board and serve immediately.

Hint: Build the snowman shape with the mozzarella first before adding any decorations - it is much easier to get the proportions right when you are only working with one ingredient.

    Recipe Tips for Success

    • Use whole mozzarella slices rather than shredded or cubed so you can create clean, defined circles for the snowman shape.
    • Overlap the cheese slices slightly within each circle so the snowman body looks full and solid rather than sparse.
    • Keep the board chilled in the refrigerator until about 15 minutes before serving so the cheese and pepperoni stay fresh.
    • This board is best assembled and served the same day - the mozzarella can release moisture if it sits too long.

    Storage

Snowman charcuterie is best assembled and served immediately. Store any leftover components separately in the refrigerator - mozzarella and pepperoni keep for up to 3 days in airtight containers. Peppermints and crackers store at room temperature.
