    Nutella Covered Strawberries

    Jump to Recipe

Nutella covered strawberries are a sweet, fruity dessert treat that fit in well for many different occasions from snacking to weddings and everything in between. They look fancy, but are super easy to make and can be ready in under 20 minutes.

Nutella covered strawberries with sprinkles on parchment paper.

Flavors of hazelnut, chocolate and juicy strawberries are all mingled together in these nutella covered strawberries. They are a perfect Valentine's day dessert, but can be made with different sprinkles to fit in at many other occasions as well.

These are made similar to other dipped desserts like these dipped rice krispie treats or these white chocolate dipped cookies. Dipped desserts look fancy, but are actually super easy to make.

    🧁Why To Try This Recipe

Super Customizable - without sprinkles, these fit in for most any occasion, but you can also change up the sprinkles to fit different themes.

Ready in 20 - you only need about 20 minutes to get these ready, and most of that time is just allowing the chocolate to harden.

Fruity treat - they are the perfect combination of sweet flavors and light, juicy and refreshing fruit.

    📋Ingredients

    • Fresh Strawberries
    • Chocolate chips or Melting Chocolate
    • Sprinkles (optional)
    • Nutella
    • Parchment Paper

    See recipe card for quantities.

    📖Substitutions & Variations

Here are a few different ways to make these sweet dipped strawberries.

    • Different sprinkles - we used valentines sprinkles, but you can use any sprinkles you want. Red and green for Christmas or White and gold for wedding are good choices. Or, you can leave them plain and forego sprinkles all together.
    • Different Chocolate - we used chocolate candy melts, but you can use plain chocolate chips (they won't harden quite the same). Or, you can used colored candy melts to make them different colors.
    • Stuffed - you can also stuff the strawberries. Simply cut out the centers and pipe in nutella, cheesecake dip or other flavors you enjoy.

    ⏲️Instructions

Here are the easy to follow step-by-step directions for making your own Nutella Covered Strawberries.

Step one: Make sure that you have completely washed and dried your fresh strawberries.

Adding nutella to chocolate melting discs.

Step two: Add the nutella and candy melts together in a microwave safe bowl.

Bowl of melted chocolate and nutella.

Step three: Microwave nutella and candy melts at 30 second intervals until melted. This usually takes around 1 - 3 minutes.

Dipping a strawberry into chocolate and nutella.

Step four: holding strawberries by the stem, dip about ⅔ of the berry into the melted chocolate mix until coated.

Rolling nutella covered strawberry in sprinkles.

Step five: If desired, roll the coated strawberry in sprinkles.

Then, lay strawberries on parchment paper to allow the coating to cool and harden.

Hint: don't get the coating too thick or it will be messy looking and wont' harden properly. You just want an even, complete coat.

    ⭐Recipe Tips for Success

    • Prepare the strawberries - you want to make sure you wash and DRY the strawberries before dipping them. If they are not completely dry, the coating will not stick as well.
    • Use a toothpick - you can use a toothpick or similar utensil to poke into the top of the strawberry to dip it if you prefer that to your hands.
    • Allow coating to harden - make sure to let the coating thoroughly cool and harden before moving them and eating or they will be messy and wet.

    Storage

You can store these in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 - 5 days depending on how fresh the strawberries were.

You can freeze them in an airtight container for up to a year.
