There's no question that Marvel Comics and The Avengers are bigger today than ever before. And there's no bigger Avenger than the Incredible Hulk. So why not learn how to make Incredible Hulk Rice Krispie Treats?
How to Make Incredible Hulk Rice Krispie Treats
This is honestly one of the most fun recipes we've ever made. It combines several of our favorite techniques; Rice Krispie Treats, colored Rice Krispie Treats, and character based Rice Krispie Treats!
To get started with this recipe you need green and purple food coloring, black icing, and some optional red decorating gel and decorative candy eyeballs.
Let's get started with this desert project and have some superhero sized fun!
Step One
Put your butter in a large stock pot and place it on your stovetop. Set your heat to medium and get your butter started melting. Once it has mostly melted, pull out your bag of Jet Puff Marshmallows.
Dump the marshmallows into the stock pot. Use a spatula to stir the marshmallows into the melted butter. You should have one big melted mess in no time!
Now take out the green food coloring and add a liberal amount into your marshmallows. Again, using your spatula, stir until the marshmallow is the color green you desire. Feel free to add more food coloring until the correct shade is reached.
You will want to repeat this step again with the purple food coloring color. You can also use half the recipe if you want to just make one full batch of Rice Krispie Treats instead of two full batches.
Step Two
Next you will want to take 6 measured cups of Rice Krispies Cereal, 3 cups if you are making half batches, and dump them into the stock pot. Stir the marshmallows and cereal together.
Continue stirring until the cereal and marshmallows are all the same color. Like in the previous step, you can add more food coloring if you need to.
Step Three
Spray the inside of a 9 x 13 baking pan with a flavorless baking spray, like canola oil. You can use any kind of spray you like, we just prefer canola oil.
Empty the contents of the stock pot into the pan. Using your spatula, squash the Rice Krispie Treats mix into the bottom of the pan until it is completely flat and even.
Set your pan to the side and allow to cool. If you want to speed this part up, you can always stick the pan. In the refrigerator or even your freezer.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for both color batches. Again, if you would rather just have one batch instead of making two full batches, you can half the ingredients.
Step Four
Once you have both color batches, you'll want to take out a sharp knife and cut them into 2 x 2 inch squares. If you've made two full batches, you should get 15 to 16 squares per pan.
Now you want to cut each of those squares in half to give you a 2 x 1 inch rectangle. Stack the green rectangles on top of the purple rectangles. Push them together slightly so that they stick.
The final piece is adding a small strip of black icing across the line where each treat meets.
And you're done!
...almost anyway.
Step Five
This final step is optional. These treats look great with just the green and purple theme. But if you want to add some more character you can add some hair and eyeballs.
If you want to do this simply place a couple of eyeballs in the middle of the green piece, a splash of red writing gel for a mouth, and add a line of black icing along the top for hair. This decorating style is similar to our Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats.
Serve and enjoy at your next family movie night!
