Are you craving the marshmallow flavor of Rice Krispie Treats but want something a little bit fruitier? Well, Trix maybe for kids, but Trix cereal bars are for everybody.
How to make Trix Cereal Bars
When we made our first batch of Trix cereal bars, we were shocked at how good they were. The classic fruity Trix taste that we all remember from our childhood combined with marshmallows is absolutely amazing.
This recipe is super easy to make. If you’ve tried out some of our other cereal bars like Lucky Charms bars, Trolls Rice Kispie Treats, or Fruit Loops Cereal Bars, you’ll have no problem making these.
Set the heat on your stove top to medium and put your large stock pot on the burner. Go ahead and add your butter end and allow to melt.
Once your butter has mostly melted, add in a full 16 ounce bag of Jet Puff Marshmallows. We prefer Jet Puff to other brands just because they seem to be the most consistent when it comes to texture and flavor.
Stir marshmallows and butter together until you have one big buttery yellow marshmallowy mixed mess (say that five times fast).
Continue stirring until the tricks are completely coated in Marshmallow and you have one big ball of mix.
Again, using your spatula, scoop your Trix marshmallow mix from the stock pot into the 9 x 13 pan. Flatten the Trix mix into the bottom of the pan until it is completely even.
Set to the side and allowed to cool.
Once your Trix cereal bars have completely cooled it is time to cut them. Take a sharp knife and cut them into 2 by 2 inch squares. A 9 x 13 pounds should give you 16 squares.
Finally, serve and enjoy!
