The only thing that could make Captain Crunch Cereal Bars better is to make Crunch Berries Cereal Bars!
How to Make Crunch Berries Cereal Bars
Crunch Berries have been a part of the Captain Crunch family for a long time. They add a sweet and fruity flavor to the sugary puffed corn flavor of regular Captain Crunch. And as we know from Fruit Loops, Trix, and Fruity Pebbles, fruit flavored cereals and homemade, original Rice Krispie Treats go hand in hand.
This recipe is going to have similar instructions to our other cereal bar recipes. So if you have made Cocoa Puffs cereal bars, Trolls Rice Krispie Treats, Cookie Crisp Cereal Bars, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal Bars you are in familiar territory.
Let's get to cooking!
Step One
Melt all of your butter in a large stock pot on your stovetop. We usually set our heat to around medium. Next, you will want to add in a bag of Jet Puff Marshmallows once your butter is mostly melted. Take a spatula and stir everything together until it is melted and the marshmallows have a golden, buttery sheen to them.
With the marshmallows completely melted, reduce your heat to low and move to the next step.
Step Two
Add 6 measured cups of Crunch Berries to your marshmallows and stir them all together. This shouldn't take long until everything is thoroughly mixed.
Step Three
Set your mix to the side and spray the bottom and inside walls of a 9 x 13 baking pan with canola oil spray. We prefer canola oil but really any flavorless baking spray will do.
Use your spatula to scoop and then flatten your marshmallow Krispie mix into the bottom of the pan. While it is still warm, make sure it is level and even. Now, set the pan to the side, on the counter or in your fridge/freezer, and allow to cool.
Step Four
Once your Crunch Berry Cereal Bars are completely cooled, you can get out a knife and cut them. We usually cut them in 2x2 inch squares. Those dimensions will generally give you about 16 squares.
Serve and enjoy!
